On January 25, the final list of enterprises certified as "Future Factories" in Zhejiang Province for 2023 was officially released, with Zhejiang Zetastone Wire & Cable Co., Ltd. (formerly Zhejiang Wuchan Zhongda Cable) successfully making the cut. This marks another milestone in Zhongda Yuanchen Cable's intelligent manufacturing achievements.
Inside its 88,000-square-meter specialized cable workshop, tasks are automatically assigned by an autonomous mobile robot (AMR) dispatching system, while AGVs (Automated Guided Vehicles) and RGVs (Rail-Guided Vehicles) efficiently transport and neatly stack cable reels at designated locations. Simultaneously, the smart logistics system's task board displays real-time inventory updates.
"Since implementing AGV and RGV smart logistics systems, our warehouse management has taken a leap toward automation. Loading and unloading operations are now far more efficient. Workers simply press a button on the control panel, and robotic carriers deliver goods precisely to target locations—reducing both labor intensity and safety risks," explained Song Zhiyi, IT Manager.
As a core high-end manufacturing subsidiary of Fortune 500 state-owned enterprise Wuchan Zhongda Group, Zhongda Yuanchen Cable ranks 19th among China's most competitive cable manufacturers (2023). It has successfully expanded into marine cables, photovoltaic systems, and new energy sectors, earning membership in the China Association of the National Shipbuilding Industry. In 2023, its annual sales volume surpassed 1 million kilometers of cable. The company also leads the drafting of national, industry, and Zhejiang manufacturing standards for the cable sector.
Since 2021, Zhongda Yuanchen Cable (Deqing Plant) has proactively responded to market demands by developing innovative specialty cables, accelerating its transition to smart production. To support advanced manufacturing, the company has significantly invested in "Future Factory" infrastructure over the past two years.
By integrating next-gen digital technologies, the Deqing plant has achieved remarkable progress in process digitization and smart workshops, enhancing core product competitiveness. These advancements not only solidify its market position but also lay a foundation for sustained innovation.
