There is no strong industrial business without lean management. Under the guidance of Wuchan Zhongda Industrial, Wuchan Zhongda Yuantong Wire&Cable co., Ltd. (referred to as "Zetastone Cable") has taken lean thinking as its core, strengthened the capability foundation for high-end manufacturing, deeply integrated lean concepts into all aspects of production and operations, and advanced the company's lean initiatives in a deeper and more practical manner.
On April 1, the Lean Production Management Project Launch Conference was grandly held at the Deqing Production Base. Led and organized by Chen Wanfang, Vice Chairwoman of Zetastone Cable, lean concepts were embedded and conveyed throughout every detail of the conference, from preparation to execution, from program planning to the release of the Lean Monthly, and from material preparation to personnel participation. The event itself was a lean conference conducted in a lean way.
The launch conference featured creative performances independently written and directed by employees, including recitations, skits, rap performances and a fashion show. Using the plainest language, the simplest costumes, the most down-to-earth props and the most engaging forms, the performances incorporated a lean theme and communicated lean concepts. The event also included the awarding of lean model area plaques and a lean pledge ceremony. All participating employees were energetic and highly motivated, fully demonstrating a strong spirit of unity, progress, pragmatism and dedication.

At the conference, Tu Weijiang, General Manager of Zetastone Cable, introduced the company's lean production project and defined a phased development path for its lean production: "one year to consolidate the foundation, two years to build manufacturing capability, and three years to achieve intelligent manufacturing." Focusing closely on three core levers—6S management, the three-inspection system and Black Belt projects—the company will comprehensively advance production management reform. Supported by five systems covering functional support, continuous improvement, talent education, rewards and penalties, and performance management, the company will consolidate its foundation in 2026, cultivate independent improvement capabilities in 2027, and build benchmark workshops while advancing operational digitalization in 2028. These efforts will fully promote the transition of production management from extensive to refined, and from standardized to lean, laying a solid foundation for building an industry-leading cable manufacturing enterprise.
Focusing on the implementation of the lean production management project, Yang Zhaowen, Chairman of Zetastone Cable, Ltd., put forward four requirements: first, adhere to innovation-driven development and ensure that lean concepts are truly understood and embraced; second, stay problem-oriented and strictly uphold management red lines; third, empower growth and reinforce responsibility across all employees; and fourth, lead from the top and establish a long-term lean mechanism.
Zhu Qingbo, Chairman of Wuchan Zhongda Yuantong Industrial Corporation, gave high recognition to the launch conference and emphasized that lean management is the necessary path for an enterprise to move toward excellence. Zetastone Cable should use lean management as a key lever to upgrade its management capabilities and truly move to the forefront of the industry. At the same time, lean management is also a profound talent development project. Every employee should be equipped with lean capabilities, so that those who understand lean become more valuable, can work more easily and safely, and are better able to seize the future amid changing times. As the enterprise moves toward the top, employees will become more competitive, with the company and employees enabling each other and growing together.
Looking ahead, Zetastone will continue to deepen lean management and accelerate the transformation of the wire and cable industry toward high-end, precision and advanced development. Powered by new quality productive forces, the company will contribute the strength of the wire and cable sector to Wuchan Zhongda Group's goal of building a respected and outstanding listed company that is "large and strong, prosperous and admirable," and to Wuchan Zhongda Yuantong Industrial Corporation's efforts to realize lean production. With 15 years in cable manufacturing, Michael specializes in conductor material science and high-voltage applications. He has led development projects for China's ultra-high-voltage transmission network and holds three patents in conductor alloy technology. Before joining Zetastone, Michael worked with State Grid Corporation on nationwide grid upgrades.
